From 31st July 2007 to 13th March 2008, Nick and Rebecca Foulerton rode 34,000 kilometres, through 30 countries from, Sussex to Singapore
. The route drawn across the map of Asia during our planning was not entirely the one we actually rode. For the full story, follow the Silk road link. While neither my wife or I would consider ourselves bikers
, we have both found that travelling by motorcycle allows a view and an interaction with the world, that would not be possible in a car, or on public transport.
This expedition and those previously undertaken require considerable, but manageable amounts of planning and organisation, if bureaucracy is not to overwhelm the enjoyment of the trip. Whilst planning such journeys I have relied heavily on the websites of other like minded travellers and so I hope that this website may be of help and possibly inspiration to others.
The contents should therefore allow the viewer to follow our journeys though the blogs, dairies, photographs and mapping. In addition I have enclosed technical data on the bike, kit lists and financial information. All this can be found via the links on the home page and please contact us should you have further questions. I have not included political information due to it's fickle and ever changing nature, should you wish a current insight into any of the countries we have visited then I can highly recommend www.horisonsunlimited.com
I think you will agree that the webpage designer, Berry Phillips has done a splendid job in constructing the website and should anyone wish to contact him, his details are at the bottom of the page.

From Phenom Phenn we rode south through the lush jungle of the Cardamon mountains to the Thai border at the bizarre casino town of Koh Kong, after having to catch three river ferries. Nick and Rebecca, a quote from Helge in his book, Ten Years on Two Wheels," Going around the world on two wheels has been, like every sort of endeavour in life, a school, where wisdom is picked up along the way- in my case along the road. I had many experiences born of trial and error. The sheer volume of impressions I experienced was enourmous. It took some time to absorb it all and a few years have now passed. I had indeed realised my childhood dream when I returned from Africa. Later I came up with new dreams and strove to realise them as well one by one. Some I did; others remain dreams. Some of those I hope- believe- will come true. Others will always be dreams...and who would want to run out of dreams?"
Safe journeys.
