We are now in the splendid town of Amasya, whıch staddles the Yesillrmak river in a narrow gorge and have just spent the night in one of the beautıful Ottoman town houses, complete wıth bathroom ın the cupboard. İn the four days since leaving İstanbul we have sped across the vastness of central Turkey, spending a few enjoyable days in the fascıinating Cappadocia region. Cappadocia contains thousands of incrediable rock hewn churchs, cave dwellings and undergound cities, whıch defy believe in their construction, begun by the Hıttıtes (1900 - 1200 BC), some of complexes were only vacated ın 1952. From here we head north to the Black Sea coast and turn east towards Georgia, where we aım to be next week.
