We are sitting in 40 degree heat in the magnificant town of Dubrovnik, following a whistlestop tour of the Balkan Coast. After the motorbike had a conplete rebuild of it's brake systen in Vienna, we finally left after five days and a very big thankyou to BMW who were incrediably generous and helpful.

We rode south through the lush forests of Slovenia to it's charming capital, Ljubjiana where we spent the night after a very wet day's journey. Crossing into Italy we sped around the coast to Venice, the spiritual start of our journey along the Silk Route.

Back around the top of the Adriatic we spend a night on the Istria Peninisula before crossing onto the islands of Krk and Rab where we joined most of Italy for a few days on the beach.

Following the spectacular coast south we stopped at Trogir and Split, before crossing into Bosnia to visit the rebuilt town of Mostar and it's beautifully retored bridge.

We are now in Dubrovnik, so apptly described as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic', by Lord Byron.

From here we will cross Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Greece and will update the site again in Istanbul.

Nick & Rebecca
