After nearly a month in Nepal, it is with regret that we make our way east, heading for an even more mysterious country, Bhutan.
The flight from Pokhara to the town of Jomson, on the other side of the Annapurna range, was our first since we have been married - and we have come half way around the world!
After this spectacular flight, we began a week long walk south along the Kali Gandaki valley. This wonderful walk took us from the barren landscape we were used to in central Asia, to the lush jungle in Annapurna's shadow.
Following our walk, we then took to the water, with three days rafting on the Kali Gandaki river.
We eventually left the bizarre but tranquil tourist town of Pokhara for the chaos of Kathmandu. Here we have remained for the last few days, sightseeing among the spectacular architecture of the Kathmandu valley.
We have both hugely enjoyed Nepal but the ease with which one can travel in this country sometimes makes us wish we were back in the wilds of central Asia.
